Capturing the potential

of a rough gemstone is my main focus when I am faceting a gem. So much work goes into finding a stone that to do less is to do a disservice. I don't cut artificial gems, only natural stones, each one a rare creation never be to created again. These gems often have many things to consider: colour, design, yield, flaws and inclusions. It is common for me to spend hours assessing a single piece to ensure that I get the best possible finished stone. Often this includes creating a unique, high performing design just for that particular stone. My process often leads to pieces with a unique design that are not often seen in mass produced jewellery or gemstones.

After assessing and choosing a design each piece is cut on my Ultratec faceting machine. A variety of laps are used, with each facet being checked for symmetry, meetpoints and polish under 10x magnification. Stones are polished with 50k diamond or higher leading to a brighter finish and more sparkle than commercially cut stones. With over 20 years of faceting experience and a high attention to detail, I am sure you will love my finished pieces.
