Custom Engagement Ring - Tasmanian Sapphires in 18kt Gold

My client wanted a statement piece engagement ring with a large sapphire from Tasmania as her partner originates from Tasmania. The ring was to be designed based on a ring I had previously made that I called 'Berries on the Vine'. We selected a large sapphire as the centrepiece. During cutting a crack in one corner required the shape of the main gem to be modified to a cut corner cushion. Design was based around this main gem and through iterations we included two other main gems to represent the family unit. The ring was then created in 18kt gold and highlighted with royal blue melee sapphires running down the 'branches' holding the main gems in place. The final result is a true statement piece.
